SOME OF THE BASIC CONCEPTS OF MAGNETOENCEPHALOGRAPHY AND NEUROMAGNETIC INSTRUMENTATION ARE REVIEWED. STATE-OF-THE-ART MULTICHANNEL SQUID MAGNETOMETERS, WITH MORE THAN 20 SQUIDS, ARE PRESENTED. AN EXAMPLE OF MAGNETOENCEPHALOGRAPHIC EXPERIMENTS WITH SUCH AN INSTRUMENT IS GIVEN.
