A VAST FINALISED APPLIED RESEARCH PROJECT WAS REALISED IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE PRESERVATION AND TRANSPORT CONDITIONS FOR FRUIT AND VEGETABLES EXPORTED FROM ITALY. IT WAS CARRIED OUT FROM 1976 TO 1981 AND DEVELOPED NEW PHYTOSANITARY PROCEDURES, TEST PLANT, NEW CONTAINER AND REFRIGERATING UNIT DESIGNS AND PROMOTED NEW EXPORT MARKETS.
