Summary
RESULTS OF NUMERICAL COMPUTATIONS FOR NATURAL CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER FROM ISOTHERMAL RECTANGULAR VERTICAL FIN ARRAYS ARE PRESENTED. VELOCITY AND TEMPERATURE PROFILES AND NUSSELT NUMBERS ARE OBTAINED FOR AIR. THE RESULTS ARE COMPARED WITH THE AVAILABLE EXPERIMENTAL DATA AND WITH PREVIOUS NUMERICAL RESULTS. THE VALUES OF AVERAGE NUSSELT NUMBERS ARE FITTED IN A CORRELATION WHICH INDICATES THAT THE NUSSELT NUMBER IS A SIGNIFICANT FUNCTION OF THE GRASHOF NUMBER AND THE LENGTH-TO-HEIGHT RATIO, AND THAT THE EFFECT OF SPACING-TO-HEIGHT RATIO IS SMALL.
