New findings on the fundamental mechanisms of boiling heat transfer.

Author(s) : AURACHER H., BUCHHOLZ M., KOEPPEN O., et al.

Summary

The paper presents a survey of studies on fundamental mechanisms of boiling heat transfer. The basic idea is to provide data for the development of physically based, mechanistic models which are more generally valid than the most widely used empirical correlations. Furthermore, data on the physical mechanisms are a necessary prerequisite to the development of enhanced surfaces systematically.
