Summary

COMPUTERISED DESIGN TECHNIQUES HAVE ENABLED MANUFACTURERS TO MAXIMISE THE PROFILE, LENGTH TO DIAMETER RATIOS, AND LOBE WRAP ANGLE OF HELICAL SCREW COMPRESSOR ROTORS TO SUIT PARTICULAR APPLICATIONS. THE IMPROVEMENT IN DESIGN HAS BEEN MATCHED BY IMPROVED MACHINING AND MEASURING ABILITIES TO THE POINT THAT UNTIL NOW THE EFFICIENCY OF A SCREW COMPRESSOR EQUALS A CENTRIFUGAL FOR FULL LOAD AIR CONDITIONING DUTIES, AND IS CONSIDERABLY BETTER AT PART LOAD. COMPRESSOR NOISE HAS ALSO BEEN REDUCED. D.W.H.
