Summary

AN INVESTIGATION OF NON-CONDENSABLE GAS EFFECTS ON HIGH PERFORMANCE CONDENSING SURFACES HAS BEEN EXPERIMENTALLY CARRIED OUT BY USING R113 AND AIR. WAVY-AND < MIDDLE >-FINPLATES HAVING PARALLEL LOW FINS ARE USED. FOR PURE VAPOUR, THE HEAT TRANSFER COEFFICIENTS OF THE WAVY-AND < MIDDLE >-FIN PLATES ARE 2.5 TO 3.2 TIMES AND 3 TO 5 TIMES HIGHER THAN THAT OF THE FLAT PLATE. IN THE PRESENCE OF AIR, THE COEFFICIENT OF THE WAVY-FIN PLATE IS REDUCED ABOUT 30%. (BULL. JSME, JP., 29, N 249, 1986/03, 1067-1068.
