Summary

The technique of calculation of the stage of a positive displacement machine has been developed and tested; this makes it possible to determine parameters of non-stationary local heat exchange on the main surfaces of the working chamber at the design stage. Heat exchange between gas and the walls of the working chamber of the expander stage is of a purely non-stationary and local nature. The heat transfer coefficients and heat fluxes reach the highest values during the intake process. The most intensive heat input from the walls to gas (negative heat fluxes), takes place on the surface of the piston during exhaust and ejection. Use of the model developed and the calculation application programme is most suitable at the final development stage in the design of prototypes of expansion and compressor positive displacement machines.
