Summary

A new building system with the integration of different types of Phase Change Materials (PCMs) is proposed and studied with numerical simulations. The passive system consisted of the integration of the PCM on the walls, with different incorporation technologies, depending on the application. A generic perimetral wall has been chosen and studied, in three different configurations: a basic concrete wall, a concrete wall with 10% micro-PCM homogeneously distributed in the mix design, and a concrete wall with 2 layers of micro-PCM applied on the external side. The results showed a better thermal comfort than a traditional constructive element: the peak of the thermal load presented a greater shift and reduction in amplitude than the conventional envelope.
