Summary

Vaneless diffusers have some advantages over the vaned ones, but at low flow rates their efficiency decreases extremely because of flow separation and rotating stall inception. Injection of high energy gas into the boundary layers could be used to prevent these phenomena. Mathematical model for gas flow in vaneless diffuser with injection has been developed and is presented in this paper. Results from a series of simulations to investigate influence of injector location, injection flow rate and injection direction are reported.
