Summary
The basic equations for the numerical methods, such as direct numerical simulation, large eddy simulation, Reynolds averaged numerical simulation and vortex method, are presented. To discuss the applicability of each method, some numerical results on turbulent jets are shown. The numerical methods promise to be increasingly employed to solve engineering problems related with turbulent jet.
