A survey has been carried out through interviews with 250 patients having testicular cancer, and 250 controls classified by age and place of residence in order to study the risk factors related to this cancer. The paper relates the results of the relatonship between occupational exposure to extreme temperatures, hot or cold, and the risk of testicular cancer. The relative risks estimated for testicular cancer were 1.71 for occupational exposure to extreme temperatures, 1.70 for low temperatures and 1.20 for high temperatures. These results suggest that occupational exposure to extreme temperatures plays a part in the aetiology of testicular cancer.
