Type of article: Article

Summary

OIL CIRCULATION IN A REFRIGERATION CIRCUIT CAN BE ENSURED BY MISCIBILITY WITH THE LIQUID REFRIGERANT, BY GRAVITY OR THE VAPOUR SPEED. IT IS STUDIED AT DIFFERENT POINTS IN THE CIRCUIT: DISCHARGE LINE, CONDENSER, EVAPORATOR, SUCTION LINE. MEASURES TO BE TAKEN ARE GIVEN: SIPHON, DOUBLE COLUMN, HIGH POINTS, SLOPE AND ARRANGEMENT OF EXCHANGER CIRCUITS. DIAGRAMSGIVE THE MINIMUM DRIVING SPEEDS AND THE OPTIMUM PRESSURE DROPS. THE EFFECT OF OIL ON HEAT TRANSFER IS DISCUSSED. THE USE OF AN OIL SEPARATOR IS STUDIED, WITH AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF OIL LEVELS IN THE COMPRESSORS IN THE CASE OF A PLANT COMPRISING SEVERAL COMPRESSORS.
