Summary

AN ANALYSIS OF THE DESIGN AND OPERATION OF OIL SEPARATORS CURRENTLY IN USE HAS REVEALED THAT THEY DO NOT FUNCTION EFFICIENTLY. EXCESSIVE OIL FOAMING IN THE COMPRESSOR CRANKCASE CAUSED POOR LUBRICATION AND REDUCED REFRIGERATING CAPACITY. NEW DESIGNS ARE BEING INCORPORATED WITH IMPROVED METHODS OF OIL FILTRATION AND RETENTION.
