Summary
The paper presents parametric and optimization studies on a rotaprocating compressor. The effects of various motion profiles, the number of cycles per motor revolution and other design parameters were analysed and discussed. The compressor simulation model was linked with the Complex optimization algorithm to define the combination of design variables that produces optimal compressor performance. Results show that a performance improvement of 10% may be obtained.
