Optimization of air conditioners operating as heat pumps.

Author(s) : VAISMAN I. B.

Summary

It is very important to find a compromise for condensers and evaporators of such air conditioners in order to improve overall system performance. The aim of the paper is to develop a computer-aided optimization methodology defining a compromise between air conditioning and heat pump modes. The optimization methodology is based on computer simulation of the complete air conditioner configuration including compressor, 4-way valve, discharge line, condenser with fan, liquid line, expansion valve, evaporator with fan and suction line.
