Summary
THE AUTHORS SHOW THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE EXERGETIC EFFICIENCY OF A CASCADE REFRIGERATION INSTALLATION AND THE EFFICIENCY OF EACH STAGE. A DYNAMIC PROGRAMMATION METHOD IS PROPOSED FOR THE OPTIMIZATION OF THE OPERATING TEMPERATURE INTERVALS OF EACH STAGE OF THE CASCADE PLANT WHICH MARKEDLY SIMPLIFIES THE CALCULATION OF INTERMEDIARY TEMPERATURES. A CALCULATION EXAMPLE IS GIVEN FOR A FOUR-STAGE CASCADE REFRIGERATION PLANT. THE SCOPE OF THE PROPOSED CALCULATION METHOD IS OUTLINED.
