OPTIMIZING COOLING TOWER SELECTIONS.

Author(s) : LEARY W. M. Jr

Type of article: Article

Summary

THE SELECTION OF A COOLING TOWER BY RULE-OF-THUMB METHODS MAY NOT GIVE THE BEST CHOICE, AND A CAREFUL ANALYSIS MUST BE MADE OF ALL OF THE CAPITAL AND RUNNING COSTS, AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES AND WATER FLOWS. MAXIMUM AIR-CONDITIONING LOADS WILL PROBABLY BE AT MAXIMUM DRY BULB CONDITIONS, AND THESE MAY NOT COINCIDE WITH THE MAXIMUM WET BULB, ON WHICH THE TOWER IS BASED. A.R.T.
