Optimizing LNG storage for scalable and sustainable business expansion in Asia.

Number: 21

Author(s) : LIM J., KIM G.

Summary

Asia currently has approximately 103 LNG receiving terminals, with a total nominal send-out capacity of LNG estimated at 650 MMt/y. This is an increase of 64% compared to a decade ago and 167% compared to two decades ago. LNG demand has continued to grow steadily; however, as more facilities come online and operations become more structured and efficient, spare capacity is being created - both for short-term and longer-term. As market liquidity increases, there is growing interest in how this extra storage can be used.
