Summary
The theory of finite time thermodynamics is applied to analyse the performance of a thermoelectric heat pump in this paper. For the fixed total heat exchanger area, the ratio of area of high-temperature side heat exchanger to total heat exchanger area is optimized for maximizing the heating load and COP of the heat pump. The effects of various parameters on the optimum performance are analysed. The results may provide guidance for the analysis and optimization of practical thermoelectric heat pumps.
