Summary
DIFFERENT ARRANGEMENTS ARE PROPOSED FOR THE INTEGRATION OF ABSORPTION HEAT PUMPS FOR UPGRADING OF WASTE HEAT. THIS MEANS THAT A CERTAIN QUANTITY OF HEAT IS TRANSFERRED BY THE HEAT PUMP FROM THE WASTE HEAT STREAM TO AN INDUSTRIAL PROCESS STREAM AT A TEMPERATURE HIGHER THAN THAT OF THE WASTE STREAM TEMPERATURE. RELATIONS ARE DERIVED FOR THE COP OF REVERSIBLE HEAT PUMP FOR EACH OF THE PROPOSED SYSTEMS. THESE RELATIONS ARE PRESENTED GRAPHICALLY TO CLARIFY THE EFFECT OF THE OPERATING CONDITIONS ON THE COP.
