Summary
In the paper, an optimum coupling temperature is established between cascaded refrigeration systems with magnetic Ericsson refrigeration cycle and magnetic Stirling refrigeration cycles. General irreversibilities are considered into account in estimating the optimum temperature. These irreversibilities may arise due to finite-rate heat transfer, heat leak and regenerative losses. The COP of the cascaded magnetic refrigeration system is also derived.
