Summary

In this in depth study of overall energy management aimed at obtaining a better heating-air conditioning service at a minimum cost, the authors breakdown the concept into "4 levels": the first level includes the equipment for the production, distribution and emissions of heat, the 2nd level the "local" automatics, the 3rd level achieves the management and control and screens the results of teletransmitted measurements, calculation ratios and other values which the 4th level uses in order to respond with full knowledge of the situation. The authors then mention the methods and functional components of the equipment, the maintenance objectives of the installation and finally the energy follow-up. J.R.
