Overview of the ASHRAE cold air distribution system design guide.
Author(s) : ELLESON J. S., KIRKPATRICK A. T.
Summary
The design guide was commissioned by ASHRAE to provide designers, building owners, and other interested parties with the basic information needed to design, install, and operate successful cold air distribution systems. Cold air distribution systems typically supply air between 4 and 10 deg C in contrast to conventional systems with supply air temperatures between 10 and 15 deg C. Cold air distribution technology offers benefits such as lower mechanical system costs, reduced energy consumption, and improved comfort. The paper presents background information on cold air distribution and describes the contents and use of the design guide.
