Comfort air conditioning in the accommodation sector of Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico.
Acondicionamiento ambiental en el sector doméstico de Mexicali, B.C.
Summary
The project "Evaluation of air conditioning equipment, motors and refrigerators in the accommodation sector of Mexicali, B.C." aims at: (i) evaluating the feasibility of the replacement of poor-efficiency equipment (air conditioning equipment, motors for evaporative coolers, refrigerators); (ii) determining the impact of various ambience conditions (comfort temperature, type of accommodation, orientation, use of the equipment), from the point of view of the consumer (costs) as well as that of the energy producer. The study shows that the accommodation sector takes the highest part in the energy consumption peak in summer, in comparison with the other sectors (industry, commerce, public sector, agriculture and livestock).
