Summary

ABSORPTION WATER CHILLER/HEATER UNITS ARE BEING DEVELOPED USING APARALLEL TWO-TEMPERATURE GENERATION SYSTEM. BY PUMPING THE FLOW FROM THE ABSORBER TO THE TWO GENERATORS IN PARALLEL, THE GENERATION PRESSURE IS REDUCED TO THAT NECESSARY TO PROMOTE SATURATION IN THE LOW TEMPERATURE GENERATOR. THE EFFECT OF MIXING THE TWO OUTLET STREAMS IS TO BRING OPERATION FURTHER AWAY FROM THE CRYSTALLIZATION ZONE. ANOTHER ADVANTAGE IS THAT TWO GENERATOR HEAT SOURCES MAY BE USED. THIS IS PARTICULARLY USEFUL IN APPLICATIONS WHERE HEAT IS TAKEN FROM GAS OR DIESEL ENGINE EXHAUST AND ALSO CYLINDER JACKET WATER. INCREASED COP IN THE ORDER OF 1.14 IS BEING ATTAINED. D.W.H.
