Summary

Experimental data (noise level, flow rate and rotational speed) measured on a large sample of fan-coil units are reported in terms of probability distribution. A qualitative analysis of the factors affecting the noise level is proposed in which the noise level of a particular fan-coil unit is considered to be dependent mainly on two variables: the pressure head developed and the supply voltage.
