These proceedings contain the 64 reports (57 in Italian, 7 in English) presented at this IIR-sponsored congress, which was organized by AICARR (the Italian Association of Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration) and held in Milan, Italy, March 29-30, 1996. The four sessions dealth with the following main topics: refrigeration, heating, integrated monitoring systems, and components for air conditioning. Extract from the table of contents: Air-conditioning session: low-temperature air-distribution installations, with semi-centralized heat pumps; systems for high-speed trains; smoke-clearing devices; monosplit and multisplit systems; water-cooled fan convector; appliance noise; heat recovery. Refrigeration session: cold stores, system components, new fluids. Some of the papers will be abstracted in a future issue of the IIR Bulletin.
