Summary
Thermal analysis on a metal-hydride heat transformer for effective use of waste heat has been carried out. The effect of operating conditions, as well as design parameters of a metal-hydride heat transformer is investigated. The hydride reaction beds are considered as coupled cylindrical modules in the modelling. In the analysis, lanthanum-nickel-aluminium compound is used for high-temperature metal hydride and lanthanum-nickel compound for low-temperature metal hydride.
