Summary

A gas engine heat pump is a compression heat pump which is driven by motive power from the gas engine. To improve the performance of the gas engine heat pump significantly, it is necessary to add a heat pump driven by the waste heat from the gas engine. Therefore, a new hybrid heat pump in which the waste heat driven ammonia/water absorption heat pump is combined with the compression heat pump was suggested, and a super efficient hybrid air-conditioning system was constructed. The performance of this hybrid heat pump is analysed by simulation. Some control techniques to drive this hybrid air-conditioning system were introduced.
