Performance of a mixed gas-nitrogen-cascade refrigerator for 80 K current lead cooling.

Summary
In the authors' earlier investigation, a system based on a nitrogen throttle cycle precooled by a mixed gas refrigerator was developed. The behaviour of this refrigeration system for forced flow vapour cooled current leads was simulated and verified experimentally. The performance of an improved nitrogen-mixed gas-cascade was recently estimated. The analysis of this system is given and compared with results of former investigations. Especially the advantage of a cascade refrigerator for "part load" operation is discussed.
