Summary

TREATS A STUDY OF THE TECHNICAL AND ECONOMIC FEASIBILITY OF COMBINED SOLAR HEATING AND COOLING IN MEDITERRANEAN CLIMATES. DESCRIBES RESULTS OBTAINED DURING THE SUMMERS OF 1982 AND 1983 USING WATER-LITHIUM BROMIDE ABSORPTION CHILLERS AND THREE TYPES OF EVACUATED TUBULAR SOLAR COLLECTORS. THE RESULTS SHOW THAT THE TYPE OF COLLECTORS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR SOLAR COOLING, SOME HAVE EFFICIENCIES OF 50%. IDENTIFIES SOME PROBLEMS OF DURABILITY WHICH APPEAR SOLVABLE. (INT. BUILD. SERV.
