Performance of desiccant-coupled air-conditioning systems under different climatic conditions.
Author(s) : AGARWAL S., MAIYA M. P.
Summary
Desiccant-coupled air-conditioning systems are proposed to maintain low humidity with good efficiency in conditioned spaces. Two configurations of desiccant-coupled air-conditioning systems, namely mixed air and condenser air regenerated systems, are analysed together with a conditioned space for a number of Indian cities in various climatic zones ranging from "hot and dry" to "composite". It is concluded that desiccant-coupled systems are useful to maintain lower humidity with only marginal increases in energy consumption compared with conventional systems under ambient conditions.
