Performance of fin-and-tube heat exchangers: frictional performance of larger diameter configurations.

Author(s) : CHANG Y. J., YANG B. C., WANG C. C., et al.

Summary

The study presents frictional characteristics of the fin-and-tube heat exchanger having larger diameter tube configuration subject to the influence of the number of tube row and fin pitch. A total of 9 samples are tested in the study. It is found that the effect of tube row on the frictional performance is rather small. However, for the same number of tube row, the friction factor increases with the rise of fin pitch. The results are a little different from the existing published results. One of the possible explanations may be associated the present larger diameter tube and the larger tube spacing of the present configuration.
