Summary

Two novel 3-dimensional helix fin tubes, pin-shape and petal-shape, are studied. The effect of the convection heat transfer and flowing resistance of two types of fin tubes are tested on the synthetic heat transfer experimental device. The experimental formula of convection heat transfer and flowing resistance is summarized from the tests, and the performance of two types of fin tube is compared with that of the ordinary helix fin tube. Such conclusion is acquired: when the Re is in the range of 3000 to 15 000, the effect of heat transfer of pin fin tube heat exchanger is 1.3 times of that for the ordinary helix fin tube, and the former flowing resistance is 30% of the latter. On the other hand, the effect of heat transfer of the petal fin tube heat exchanger is 1.4 times of that for the ordinary helix fin tube, and flowing resistance of the former is approximately the same as the latter. To sum up, the heat-transfer performances of two new type helix fin tube heat exchangers are greatly enhanced.
