Personal exposure to contaminant sources in ventilated rooms.

Author(s) : BROHUS H.

Type of monograph: Doctoral thesis

Summary

This thesis for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at the Faculty of Engineering and Science, Aalborg University, presents three different tools for personal exposure assessment: the breathing thermal manikin, the computer simulated person and the trained sensory panel and applies them with displacement and mixing ventilation. Proposes a personal exposure model for a room with displacement ventilation. It defines two new quantities describing the interaction between a person and ventilation. In the appendices: heat balance for a person; surface areas of the breathing thermal manikin; measurement of the convective heat transfer coefficient; measurement of the clothing insulation; the turbulent kinetic energy and the rate of dissipation of turbulent kinetic energy transport equations.
