Author(s) : INO N.
Type of article: Article
Summary
A 70 MW MODEL MACHINE IS NOW BEING DEVELOPED UNDER A NATIONAL < R& D FOR SUPERCONDUCTING GENERATION EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS > PROJECT IN JAPAN. THE COOLING CAPACITY OF THE HELIUM LIQUEFIER TO SUPPORT THE GENERATOR IS ESTIMATED TO BE 95 LITERS/H. THE AUTHORS HAVE CLARIFIED THE IMPORTANT ITEMS AND DETAILS OF STUDY AS FOLLOWS: 1) DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHLY RELIABLE TECHNIQUES FOR REMOVING IMPURITIES ; 2) DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHLY RELIABLE CANNED COMPRESSORS ; 3) DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHLY RELIABLE EXPANDERS ; AND 4) DEVELOPMENT OF HIGHLY RELIABLE CONTROL SYSTEMS.
