Summary

In a first part, the heat transfer and the pressure drop laws are given for single-phase flow applications, and a local flow analysis allows to give a physical interpretation of the results. In a second part, two-phase flow applications are studied, and some general laws are given to estimate the heat transfer coefficient and the pressure drop during evaporation and condensation processes.
