Summary
THE USE OF REFRIGERANT MIXTURES IN RECIPROCATING COMPRESSOR REFRIGERATING SYSTEMS CAN PROVIDE ENERGY SAVINGS AS WELL AS IMPROVE THE RUNNING CONDITIONS OF THE SYSTEM. THE AUTHOR STATES THAT MIXTURES ARE BETTER ADAPTED TO VARYING EVAPORATING AND CONDENSING TEMPERATURES THAN SINGLE COMPONENT REFRIGERANTS. SYSTEM PERFORMANCE CAN BE IMPROVED IF THE REFRIGERANT TEMPERATURE CHANGE IS MADE TO CORRESPOND TO THE CHANGE IN THE HEAT SINK TEMPERATURE THUS MINIIIGEEGTCLSE. THEORETICAL ANALYSIS HAS SHOWN IMPROVEMENTS TO SYSTEM PERFORMANCE CAN EXCEED 30%.
