Summary

The results of compressor tests with a R32-R125-R134a (24-23-53 M%) blend in an experimental installation are reported. Results were, for the most part, positive. True, the refrigerating capacity was considerably lower at lower evaporating temperatures, due to the steep vapour-pressure curve; COPs were nonetheless similar. In addition, volumetric efficiency and isentropic yield are as good as with R22. Final compression temperatures are lower, something which lengthens service life.
