Poultry imports top million tons; domestic output still declining.
Type of article: Article
Summary
In Russia, management reforms and foreign investment have come to the rescue of farms and processing operations in some regions. But feed mixes are still costly and hard to come by. Russian imports soared at least 35% last year to more than a million tons. While the United States remains the single largest supplier, exports from the European Union also increased sharply.
