Power consumption of air conditioning installations.

Summary

States that the power consumption of air conditioning systems is considerably affected by the mode of operation. Gliding room temperatures, "zero energy bands" or "permissible moisture zones" utilise the permissible comfort limits to achieve a reduction in energy consumption. By using enthalpy-dependent controlled mixing chambers and controllable humidifiers the process curve can be optimised. Conventional methods for calculating energy costs fail to take these possibilities into account or do so in a very imprecise way.
