TEST DATA ARE GIVEN ON THE DECREASE IN THE COP AND THE VOLUMETRIC EFFICIENCY OF PG5 HERMETIC RECIPROCATING COMPRESSORS IN TERMS OF THE CLEARANCE BETWEEN THE PISTON AND THE CYLINDER AND THE DRIVING SYSTEM. THESE TECHNICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MEASURING-PREDICTING SYSTEM ARE GIVEN FOR PREDICTING THE CONDITION OF HERMETIC COMPRESSORS UNDER OPERATING CONDITIONS AND AN ANALYTIC EXPRESSION IS GIVEN FOR THE CALCULATION OF THE REMAINING LIFETIME OF COMPRESSORS.
