Prevalence of Legionella bacteria in building water systems.
Author(s) : HODGSON J. M., CASEY B. J.
Summary
The article presents a study in which more than 5,800 samples were collected from many different types of water systems and analysed between October 1991 and July 1993. It finds that less than 6.5% of the samples produced Legionella-positive results. The article also discusses the reasons for the much lower Legionella-positive figures than those expected from other studies and points to suggested water management practices that help to achieve these results.
