Summary
Scroll compressor technology is a reliable technology for air conditioning and refrigeration applications. These compressors are designed for use with various kinds of refrigerants. More than 100 million Copeland scroll compressors have been installed worldwide so far. They are equipped with advanced protective devices like internal motor protector, internal pressure relief valve, thermo disc, ASTP (Advanced Scroll Temperature Protection) device, reverse rotation mechanism, discharge check valve, etc. These devices ensure that scroll compressors are protected against most of the system or application malpractices in the field.
