Summary

A DIAGRAM SHOWS THE POSSIBLE PRESERVATION OF HAEMOGLOBIN IN AIR AND IN THE DARK, 15 MONTHS AT 277 K (4 DEG C), AFTER FREEZE-DRYING, WITH ADDITION OF SUCROSE AND AN AMINO-ACID SALT. THE AUTHORS DETAIL THE FUNCTIONAL CONDITION OF FREEZE-DRIED HAEMOGLOBIN IN PRESENCE OF LYSIN AND ARGININ ASPARTATES, AFTER 26 MONTH STORAGE UNDER THE ABOVE-MENTIONED CONDITIONS. THEY SHOW THE POSSIBLE PRESERVATION FOR 12 MONTHS OF SUCH LYOPHILISATES PREPARED UNDER CONDITIONS NEAR THOSE WHICH COULD BE APPLIED ON THE INDUSTRIAL SCALE, WITH ADDITION OF THE SAME ASPARTATES, FOR WHICH THE PRACTICAL INTEREST OF USE IS STRESSED.
