Propath: a program package for thermophysical properties of fluid.

Author(s) : AKASAKA R., MOMOKI S., YAMAGUCHI T., et al.

Summary

PROPATH is a programming library collection for calculations of thermophysical properties of fluids. By using the libraries of PROPATH, the users can obtain thermophysical properties as easily as calculating trigonometric functions. The PROPATH GROUP, which is a non-profit organization consisting of Japanese thermophysical scientists, released the first version of PROPATH in 1984, and has continued to revise in order to extend the feature and to ensure the reliability. Until now PROPATH has been distributed to over 100 universities and institutes around the world. In 2008, the latest version (version 13.1) has been released which includes over 20 libraries related to natural working fluids such as propane, n-butane, isobutane, ammonia, methanol, ethanol, carbon dioxide, and water. Additionally, libraries for the following substances are also included: methane, ethane, ethylene, argon, nitrogen, n-hydrogen, oxygen, and hydrofluorocarbons (R23, R32, R125, R134a, R143a and R152a). The latest version of PROPATH will provide a powerful calculation environment to scientists and engineers developing refrigeration technology.
