Summary

The possible uses of mixtures in refrigerators and heat pumps are reviewed. Absorption systems are discussed in the context of industrial waste heat. The main emphasis is given to compression, systems using both azeotropic and non ideal mixtures, showing how the latter may be used advantageously for low temperature refrigeration.
