Summary
An absorption chiller and an electric motor-driven heat pump chiller in series make it possible to obtain 3 deg C chilled water as a storage source. The plant considerably reduces both the initial cost and the running cost, since it can achieve night-time heat storage equivalent to 50% of total daily cooling load, by storaging 3 deg C chilled water in a 4,820 cubic meters capacity heat storage pit at night.
