R142B: A NEW REFRIGERANT FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMPS.

Author(s) : BLAISE J. C., DUTTO T.

Summary

THIS STUDY PRESENTS THE RESULTS OBTAINED WITH A HIGH TEMPERATURE HEAT PUMP USING THE R142B. THE THERMODYNAMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF SATURATION OF THIS FLUID ARE BETWEEN THE ONES OF THE R12 AND THE ONES OF THE R114. THIS FLUID IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE PRODUCTION OF HOT WATER AND HOT AIR ABOUT 368 K (95 DEG C). THE RESULTS SHOW A THERMAL PRODUCTION HIGHLY SUPERIOR TO THE ONE OF R114. THE EXPERIMENTAL COP WITHOUT UNDERCOOLING IS CLOSE TO 65% OF THE VALUE OF CARNOT'S PERFORMANCE. FURTHERMORE THE STABILITY OF R142B IN PRESENCE OF OIL AND METALS IS THE SAME AS THE ONE OF THE R114.
