Summary

THE AUTHORS PRESENT A DIAGRAM SHOWING THE ACTIVE VENTILATION SYSTEM OF A COLD STORE FOR VEGETABLES WITH DYNAMIC INSULATION. THEY ALSO SHOW THE RELATION BETWEEN THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION OF THE COOLING SYSTEM, THE EXERGY USED FOR THE ACTIVE VENTILATION OF ONE TONNE OF POTATOES DURING 24 HOURS AND THE PERCENTAGE WEIGHT LOSS OF THE PRODUCTS. FURTHERMORE, THE INPUTS OF EXTERNAL HEAT ARE INDICATED, AS WELL AS THE DIAGRAM OF A REFRIGERATING MACHINE, ITS CYCLE WITH WATER VAPOUR CONDENSATION FROM THE AIR AND STORAGE OF COLD, AND THE RELATION BETWEEN THE ENERGY USE OF THE REFRIGERATING MACHINES AND THE EVAPORATOR AND CONDENSER TEMPERATURES. FINALLY, THEY PRESENT THE RESULTS, IN TABLES, OF THE ENERGY CHARACTERISTICS OF THREE REFRIGERATING MACHINES. R.R.
